man alive I feel bad for you Brits when it comes to insurance. to insure 2 cars (land cruiser, jetta sportwagen tdi) a small boat and a pop up camp trailer is like $320 a year for me.

And that's the cheapest quote I've had on any car. Insurance on something like your jetta would be upwards of $2500.

I just don't get that. I can't even imagine what my fzj80 land cruiser would be, cause it would probably be what I paid for it...year after year. is that liability only or collision as well? whats required legally?

It's fully comprehensive so covers my car for damage too. Has windshield cover and stuff included. If I do claim for damage I have to pay a £500 fee though.

is there a liability only in the UK? or is it all or nothing? in the US you can get liability insurance only (minimum requirement) that covers injury and personal property damage for the other guy but not you and its cheap, something like $100 for 6 months.

Yeah theres liability only, then liability + fire damage or theft, then fully comprehensive. Interestingly liability only would've cost me hundreds more than fully comprehensive.
